TISD Employees Try To Get Jobs Back

Some TISD employees have asked the school board to reconsider giving them their jobs back. First, Christina Jontra, who performed in that controversial skit at Bell Elementary, filed a grievance to be reinstated in the school district. The board denied that request, upholding the superintendent's decision to fire her. A second Bell teacher involved in that same controversy, Wendy Short, withdrew her petition before the school board meeting. Because of that officials are unsure of the nature of her grievance. Finally, Waymon Wesley, asked the board to reinstate him as principal of the Plyler Instructional Complex. That request was denied, and Wesley will remain re-assigned in another department.
