Jury Selection Beginning In Yates Retrial

Prosecutors and defense lawyers are whittling down a pool of 120 potential jurors in Andrea Yates' retrial in the drowning of her children.

She's in court today in Houston for jury selection, which is expected to take two days. Her 2002 conviction was overturned because of faulty testimony from a prosecution expert.

She has again pleaded innocent by reason of insanity. Her five children were drowned in a bathtub in 2001.

Rusty Yates says his ex-wife is "very devastated" by the loss of her children. He tells N-B-C letters she's sent show that her mental state is "pretty clear now."

He it will be "very hurtful" for her to have to relive the crime at her latest trial.
