Yet another zoo in England is dealing with a case of animal theft.
Investigators say five endangered monkeys were stolen over the weekend. The thieves also tried to break into another enclosure holding still more monkeys.
Other zoos have had small monkeys taken in recent weeks and one expert is convinced it's no mere coincidence. An official with the National Theft Register for Exotic Animals calls it a series of well-organized "specialist crimes." He fears the monkeys were taken to be sold in the illegal pet trade.
A spokesman for the zoo that was hit over the weekend says each of the five monkeys it lost are worth between 37-hundred and 55-hundred dollars.
