Accidents Claim Two Lives

The weather is already being blamed for several accidents in East Texas. In one of those accidents, a child was killed and 9 people were sent to the hospital.   It happened at mile marker 548 in Smith County. The Department of Public Safety says, due to the wet roads one vehicle lost control and crossed the median causing the accident.   Six year old Skyler Johnson of Arlington was ejected from the SUV and killed. She was not wearing her seat belt.

Another accident in Smith County kills one. It happened on FM 2908 South of County Road 397. According to DPS, the driver 48 year old Charles Ray Griffith of Tyler. Took a curve at an unsafe speed and then over corrected and hit a tree. He was wearing his seat belt.
