The Smith County Habitat for Humanity has a bigger and better location for it's resale store. The new store, called Habitat Restore, had its grand opening today. Hundreds of people came out to shop and celebrate the move. All the items in the store are donated from the community, and the money raised goes toward helping build more homes in the county.
"We actually ran out of room when we were located on Locust Street next to the habitat offices," said Dora Benavidez, board member for Habitat for Humanity. "We needed more room and, we're expanding and we're doing great things and the offices are going to eventually move here once we get everything settled in here, so we're very excited to have this location." One shopper today, spent more than $2,000.00. The Habitat Restore is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
