Next time, he'll leave the job to professionals.
A Minnesota man found himself buried up to his waist in sand while trying to repair a water valve in his yard. Shane Hybben (HIB'-ben) spent a tense couple of hours that way. His seven-year-old son tossed him a phone to call 9-1-1. Rescuers at first used buckets to try to dig him out, but the sand kept collapsing tighter around him. Hybben says it felt like "having your blood pressure checked on both legs continuously for two hours." Finally, they pounded planks down around him. Once they got the sand down to his knees, they lifted him out in a harness.
