Texas Parks Did Not Have Flood Insurance During Hurricane Rita, Parks May Suffer

Texas Parks and Wildlife may be stuck with the bill for some of the damage state parks suffered during Hurricane Rita.

A state official says that's because the agency doesn't have flood insurance. Hurricane Rita caused about $3 million  in damage to eleven state parks when it blew ashore on September 24th.

Texas Parks and Wildlife has asked federal authorities to reimburse them for those damage costs.
