Former Troup Police Chief Is Indicted

The former Troup Police Chief has been indicted on four counts of tampering with evidence.   Chester Kennedy, 59, was arrested last March and charged with tampering with evidence. A grand jury also indicted Kennedy on one theft charge.   Kennedy faces two to ten years in prison for all five charges. Former Troup police officer Samuel Mark Turner was also arrested with Kennedy. Turner pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence and is set be sentenced July 21st.
