Armed Robber On The Loose

Two armed robberies less than 30 minutes apart, and local police are still looking for the thieves.

The first happened last night around 6:45 on Dorchester Drive in Tyler. A woman was outside her son's house when a man approached her with a chrome handgun, and demanded money. She did not give it to him, and he ran away.

A half hour later, another robbery, just blocks away on Professional Street on the southwest loop near La Quinta.  A truck driver was parking his rig, when he says a man fitting the same general description, with a chrome handgun took aim at him, demanding money. This time he got away with some cash.

The suspect in both cases is described as a black male, in his mid 20's to 30's with a medium to heavy build. He was wearing a black t-shirt, shorts, and ball cap. He was armed with a 380 chrome handgun.

One of the victims says the robber drove away in a white economy car with chrome wheel.
