Man Sentenced For Stealing Car And Leading Police On Chase

A Tyler man who stole a vehicle and lead police on a chase is sentenced to 40 years in prison. Dustin Umphress, 23, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest and burglary of a vehicle. Officials say Umphress stole an unattended SUV from the parking lot of the Little Red School House. Umphress fled from police and sped through several major roads including Highway 31 west, Highway 155 and Old Jacksonville Highway. During the chase, Umphress hit two cars, but no one was injured.
