Tyler Woman Identified As Victim In I-20 Crash

Officials released the name of the victim killed in a crash on Interstate 20 in Smith County yesterday. She's Marilyn Riddle, 54, of Tyler.

The collision took place around 4:45 yesterday afternoon near the Highway 271 entrance. Officials say two separate crashes took place.

Juan Hernandez of Arlington was headed east-bound in his Ford Taurus, when he lost control of his vehicle, went through the grass, and into the other lane of traffic. He hit Riddle's beige Saturn, killing her instantly. Then a semi-truck hit the Taurus from behind. Both passengers in the Taurus, and the passenger in the Saturn were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

There is no word yet on whether there will be any charges filed.
