DaimlerChrysler is recalling about 45-thousand Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Dodge Magnum sedans.
The auto maker says it's for repairs to prevent brake fluid leakage that could lead to engine compartment fires. In some cases, the exhaust gas recirculation tube could come into contact with the brake tubes, leading to brake fluid leaking and a fire.
The reall affects 2006 model-year vehicles with two-point-seven-liter engines.
The company is also recalling almost seven-thousand 2006 Jeep Wranglers equipped with six-speed manual transmissions because of potential problems with the clutch.
The nation's number-three auto maker says the defect could prevent movement, lead to increased stopping distances and engine stalling.
