Doing the most good is the mission of The Salvation Army, and they can't do it without volunteers.
Today, they took time to say thank you with a good old-fashioned picnic, complete with red-checkered table cloths. It was a little wet outside, but that didn't stop the fun. Volunteers munched on barbecue and potato salad, and a sweet treat for all of their hard work. Linda Edwards works for The Salvation Army.
She said, "They volunteer their time, and efforts, and donations to us, to keep the programs at The Salvation Army going, and we just want to show them how much they are loved and appreciated."
The volunteers we spoke with were very modest. They said they couldn't believe the group would do something so nice for them.
