Hazardous Waste Collection

In celebration of Earth Day, you have the unique opportunity to get rid of any hazardous waste you may have around your home, free. The event Saturday in Tyler is going to be held at one of the parking lots of the TJC campus from 9:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. It's located on Magnolia Drive, next to Bateman Dorm. Items accepted include chemicals, household cleaners, pesticides, fertilizers, tires, electronics, latex and oil-based paints, thinners, batteries, motor oil, antifreeze, gasoline, old medicine, mercury thermometers, aerosols, fluorescent bulbs, nail polish, lighter fluid and glues.

Hazardous waste from business will not be accepted. You are asked to label your items properly. Any material dropped off after 2:00 p.m. will be considered illegal dumping.
