Power Grid Chairman Says More Blackouts Possible, Though Unlikely

An investigation is on to find out how a power shortage may be handled better. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas runs the state power grid and ordered rolling blackouts Monday across most of the state, including parts of East Texas.

It came without warning to the public.

The chairman of ERCOT says he can't rule out a repeat of Monday, if another heat wave strikes in the next 3 weeks.  Power generating stations across the state are still out of service for maintenance usually performed during the month of April.  TXU Electric Delivery assured customers Tuesday sufficient power generation would be available well before the summer months.
