"One Tough Grandma" was in Tyler on Tuesday.
Carole Keeton Strayhorn was at UT Tyler collecting signatures for her campaign for governor. We spoke with strayhorn about yesterday's announcement of 8.2 billion dollars, that could be used to help school funding. She says that will not fix the problem and there needs to be a long term plan.
"A leader does not let nine sessions go by and now a tenth without a long term fix with cutting property tax and money going into educate for our teacher and for our classrooms," says Carole Keeton Strayhorn.
Strayhorn says she also outlined a plan for an almost 8 billion dollar long term plan. She also wants to cut property taxes and give a pay increase to teachers.
