Community Work Force Holding Poker Tournament

An East Texas organization is hoping a poker tournament in two weeks, will raise some big money for a fundraiser planned in May. It's to benefit the Crystal Ball, a formal dance put on by the Community Work Force of Texas.

The Crystal Ball gives high school and middle school students with special needs, the chance to have their own prom. Organizers hope the tournament will give them enough of a financial boost. "We were falling a little short in raising funds this year so we decided to have another event to bring the funds in to help to fund the Crystal Ball," said Community Work Force of Texas executive director Lisa Lefever.

The "Texas Hold 'em Benefit Poker Tournament" will take place at the VFW on Rhones Quarter Road in Tyler. It'll be held April 24th from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tickets, which you can only get in advance, are $50. You can get them by calling the Community Work Force of Texas at 561-7871.
