McGinnis Wins Runoff For Smith County Commissioner Precinct 2

Too close to call in March, several East Texas races had to be decided Tuesday night in a runoff.

The election results in Smith County, the Commissioners Precinct 2 Republican race, Bill McGinnis has won with 52% of the vote over Dale Moran.

These candidates beat out incumbent David Stein in the primary. McGinnis, who will be unopposed in November, spoke to us about his win.

"This has been a dream of mine for a long time. I've worked for the commissioners for 20 years, almost 20 years, I've always wanted to run for commissioners. I've done that and I've won and I'm just as happy as I can be and I want to get out there and start serving the citizens of the county," say McGinnis.

He says he hopes to address the future of the county as it continues to grow.
