A new Regional Command Center vehicle was delivered this morning. The new command center, paid for with grants from Homeland Security, is designed to provide East Texas Law Enforcement the kind of resources they need during major disasters.

"This is a tool that we can use for natural and manmade disasters, anything from hostage negotiations to hazardous materials events, anything that's large scale," says Chief of Special Operations Russell Marshall.

The Command Center will not only serve Longview and Gregg County. As part of the Ark-La-Tex Emergency Management Alliance, the center will be available to assist 22 counties and parishes in East Texas, Southern Arkansas and Western Louisiana.
