Trane American Standard Celebrates 50th Anniversary

One of Tyler's largest companies celebrated 50 years of existence today. Trane American Standard, an air conditioning manufacturing plant in Tyler, opened in 1956. Trane held an open house for its 2,100 employees and their family and friends. A special ceremony recognized the company's success and honored three employees who have worked for Trane since it opened. Employees say it's the people that work there that make the company great.

"We have the opportunity to bring in a lot of customers and potential customers to see us and our operation here in Tyler," said Trane American Standard President Residential Systems Dave Pannier. "When they leave without almost no hesitation, what impressed them most about our business is not the machinery, not the products we make, but the people that are associated with the business, and that's their words not mine."

Trane supports several local charities in Tyler. More than 20 percent of the funds donated to United Way comes from Trane.
