A new man is in charge of the more than 14,000 soldiers of the 36th Infantry Division of the Texas Army National Guard.
Saturday, Brigadier General John Furlow of Whitehouse is taking command. General Furlow entered the military in 1977. Units from the 36th Infantry Division are currently deployed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Bosnia and Egypt.
Last year, they helped in the relief efforts following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
