NFL Unveils 2006 Schedule

The NFL announced the 2006 schedule today with some interesting quirks for the Cowboys and Texans.

The Cowboys are on the road for six of their first nine games.  Their bye week comes very early in week three.  Terrell Owens makes his Philadelphia homecoming on October 8.  Peyton Manning will play in Texas Stadium for the first time on November 19.  Former Cowboys assistant head coach Jay Payton will return to Texas Stadium as head coach of New Orleans on December 10.  The Cowboys and Eagles play a special Christmas Day game.

Four of the Texans first six games are at home, including their season opener against Philadelphia on September 10.  They also have an early bye week on October 8.  They make their first regular season trip to Texas Stadium to play the Cowboys on October 15.  Houston then plays six of eight games on the road before closing out the season with home games against Indianapolis and Cleveland.
