Some Longview students are getting their statement out against smoking by doing an unusual clean up job. The kids were out in force at the Gregg county courthouse today picking up 3-thousand discarded cigarette butts part of a program called "Kick Butts Day". The group is part of a national organization called "PECAT", or "People Educating Communities About Tobacco", who are trying to stop youth tobacco use.
The kids say it's a chance for them to show how the next generation can make a difference in stopping an unhealthy habit. The kids estimate they picked up over 3-thousand cigarette butts today.
