ETMC offers free forum on sleep and fatigue April 11

Sleep problems may become more noticeable during the first week of Daylight Savings time. For those who have had a restless week, Raymond C. Perkins, MD, a sleep medicine specialist, will discuss sleep problems and fatigue at noon April 11 in the ETMC Pavilion in a free KnowledgeFirst forum.

The medical director of the ETMC Sleep Disorders Center , Dr. Perkins is an expert on the many types of sleep disorders.

“Studies show millions of Americans do not get the rest they need,” said Karen Cranford, RN, KnolwedgeFirst coordinator. “Everyone has a restless night now and then, but chronic sleep problems can lead to other health complications. Our forum will help participants get a better understanding of sleep disorders and the treatments that are available.”

A light lunch will be provided and Dr. Perkins will be available for questions after his presentation.

Parking will be available in the lot next to the Pavilion with additional parking in the Lake Street lot with complimentary shuttle service.

Pre-registration is requested by dialing 800-648-8141.

KnowledgeFirst forums are conducted regularly at ETMC in order to help East Texans make better-informed healthcare decisions.
