All-Star Game Set For Saturday

Azalea Orthopedics is proud to announce the players who will be participating in the third Annual East Texas All Star Basketball Game, April 8th 7:30 p.m. at the UT Tyler Patriot Center. “The response was overwhelmingly positive from the East Texas High School coaches,” said Dan Fuller, head athletic trainer for Azalea Orthopedics and program coordinator.

Fuller said the number of talented players nominated made the selection process difficult. “The selection panel had a daunting task to only choose 20 players for the game, but we do feel that this group of young, talented players will put on an excellent display of basketball skill and good sportsmanship.”

Coaches for this year’s All-Star game are Brian Keith, head coach of the Arp Tigers, the 2A state champions and Ryan Tomlin, head coach for the Bullard Panthers, who were the Regional finalist in the 3A division this year.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. April 8. A three-point contest will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a slam dunk contest to follow at 7:00 p.m. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $6.00 for adult and $3.00 for children under the age of 10.

I think its safe to say Jameis Winston likes to hang out with East Texas talent. The Tampa Bay quarterback was in Lufkin Wednesday night with former teammate Jorvorskie Lane to help the former Lufkin star talk with kids and support his "Lane of Hope" foundation. But, earlier Wednesday, a picture surfaced on social media of Winston working out with Adrian Peterson in Houston at a training facility.
