Thousands will join together this weekend to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Don't Mess With Texas. The trash-off is this Saturday, with events all across East Texas.
In Smith County, you can get rid of all unwanted household waste items between 8 a.m. and noon.
Manned dumpsters will be located at the following locations:
Lindale: Pct. 5 Constable's Office, Smith County Ln.
Texas College Rd: Jones Valley Community Church of God in Christ at the intersection of CR 4160
Noonday: Pct. 2 Constable's Office, 15405 Highway 155 S.
Troup: Pct. 3 Constable's Office, 313 E. Duvall
They will not accept: hazardous wastes, pesticides, liquid paint, tires, batteries, oil, electronics, computers or appliances with coolant.
Also in Tyler, residents are invited to Rose Rudman Park or downtown to cleanup from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Supplies from the cleanup will be provided, however, you're asked to bring your own rake.
In Longview, you can drop off old tires and phone books for recycling on Pine Tree Road and Timpson Park from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
