Marshall Shootout Leaves One Dead

Police in Marshall say an on-going feud between two rival groups lead to a wild gun battle leaving one man dead. Six others were wounded and are now hospitalized. Authorities say it happened around two this afternoon at Spring Street Park, near Wiley College. Investigators say the groups confronted each other in the park.

Shortly after between 20 to 30 shots were fired. The park is littered with dozens of shell casings. Officials say 29- year old Lee Arthur McCowan died from his wounds. Authorities have not yet released the names or conditions of the other victims.

An arrest warrant has been issued in Harrison County for 27- year old James Earl Epps in connection with the shooting.
