Ten remarkable women were honored today at the 10th Annual Women Changing The World service at Texas College.It was in honor of Women's History Month.
A parade of women, dressed in purple, red and pink walked to Martin Hall. The colors were chosen to show solidarity for issues like domestic violence, heart disease and breast cancer. During a service, women were honored for their contributions as mentors to students at the college and in the community.
Tredis Griffin is the Chairwoman for the event.
She said, "All of the honorees this year, have done tremendous things for the college. Always upholding the college in a positive light, and being whatever service they can be to the college."
Honored today were Vickie Stokes, Yvonne Gilmore, Vera Landry-Moore, LeJune Henry, Linda Hearn, Temeka Jeter, Rosia Edwards, Loretta Dewberry, Lauretta Moore and Phyllis Watson.
