A group of surgeons in Dallas spent 10 hours performing an operation on a seven-year-old boy from Central America. They're calling the procedure a success.
Milton Caal's right leg is shorter than his left one. Refuge International, a group based in Gilmer, found out about Milton's condition during a mission trip to Guatemala last year. Refuge International arranged Milton's surgery. The group has also been housing Milton and his father.
Milton has to undergo six to nine months of physical therapy before he can go back to Guatemala. Tomorrow, Milton celebrates his eighth birthday.
