Longview Restaurant Report

   Seven Longview area restaurants were singled out for excellence in the inspection period by inspectors with the Longview environmental health department, including Bodacious Bar-B-Que at 2227 Mobberly avenue. Inspected march 1st the had spotlessly clean conditions and no violations. They scored a perfect "A".

   Another perfect mark was handed out to the "Cooks Nook" at 1444 Mccann road. Inspected march 7th, conditions were clean and well kept, and no violations were found. They scored a perfect "A".

     Only one minor violation was found in a February 28th inspection of Deb's downtown cafe at 103 west Tyler street. All foods were at proper temperatures and work spaces were clean. They scored an "A".

   Bodacious Bar-B-Que at 1402 west Marshall avenue had only one minor violation in a February 27th inspection. All work spaces were clean and all foods at proper temperatures. They scored an "A".

    Inspected march 7th "Mama Moose deli" at 2718 Gilmer road, had one violation. Foods were properly stored and protected, and workspaces were clean. They scored an "A".

    "Papa Johns" pizza at 1409 west Loop 281 had one minor violation in a February 17th inspection. There were clean conditions and foods held at proper temperatures. They scored an "A".

    And only one violation was found in a February 23rd inspection of "Burger King" at 701 west Marshall avenue. Work spaces were clean and all foods held at proper temperatures. They scored an "A".

    A correction from last Thursday's report, the Longview health department says that the "Waffle Shoppe" on Marshall avenue had an infestation of gnats, "not" roaches. Upon re-inspection "Waffle Shoppe" had corrected all violations. All reports are provided by the Longview environmental health department. Bob Hallmark reporting.

    An East Texas boy scout has achieved his goal of raising enough money to purchase 31 bullet proof vests in 31 days. 13 year old Jaxon Holland was raising the funds for his Eagle Scout project and surpassed his goal. Holland raised $18,000 which will cover 34 vests plus accessories. The vests will be donated to the Wood County Sheriff’s office.
