Senate To Renew Patriot Act Consideration; Vote Expected Wednesday

Congress is back in town and amid the debate over ports security, the Senate today begins what are expected to be final deliberations on renewing the Patriot Act.

The renewal has been delayed twice while lawmakers worked to balance civil liberties with the tools given to law enforcement.

Just before the Senate left on its mid-winter break, it rejected an effort to block the renewal.

A final Senate vote is expected Wednesday.
