Teens Plead Not Guilty In Homeless Beatings

Three Florida teens charged with beating several homeless men are pleading not guilty.

Brian Hooks, William Ammons and Thomas Daugherty entered the plea today to charges of murder and attempted murder. The attacks killed one man and seriously injured two others.

A security camera recorded one of the attacks, and it drew widespread attention. The video showed attackers beating the man with a baseball bat. It led police to the three teens.

Hooks and Ammons are both 18 and Daugherty is 17. The older two could face a death penalty. Daugherty faces a maximum of life in prison because of his age.

Police are investigating whether the teens may have been involved in five other assaults on homeless people who came forward after the January 12th attacks.
