Hundreds Of Middle Schoolers Pack Tyler Junior College

Tyler Junior College was invaded by more than 700 middle school girls today. The annual Expanding Your Horizons workshop took place to teach students about careers in math, science and technology. Middle School girls from around East Texas attended two classes of their choice this morning ranging from chemistry, to agriculture, to health education. KLTV 7's very own Executive Producer, Marie Biggs taught a class on journalism called "Making the News". The students say they learned a lot.

"It helped you learn about what you're going to be doing in college and helping make a decision if you're going to go to college or not," said 11-year-old Danielle Blakely. KLTV 7's Gillian Sheridan was the master of ceremonies for the event. She had the fun job of giving away awards to the very excited middle schoolers.
