Tyler City Council Approves Long Term Plan

The first steps to make improvements in Tyler, happened on Tuesday.

Tyler Mayor Joey Seeber shared his roadway to the future to the city council members. Traffic and cogestion topped the list of city concerns.  After a short presentation, the city council approved to start working on the long term plan for Tyler.

Mayor Joey Seeber says, "For the first time ever our city is all coming together to structure the course for our future.  To answer the question, what is the city of Tyler going to be 50 years from now."

The areas that a search committee will look into are:  transportation and congestion, historic preservation, North Tyler revitalization, downtown development, parks and recreation, housing and neighborhoods and public facilities.

The plan is expected to cost more than half a million dollars. Royalties from lake Tyler and a special capital project fund will pay for about half of those expenses.
