A Look Back: After Tower Collapse, Christian Radio's KVNE Plans Fundraising Drive

Christian radio station KVNE at 89.5 FM lost their antenna in the collapse of the KLTV broadcast tower Friday morning, and is now transmitting with very low power.

Their normal signal is 100,000 watts.  Today, a backup transmitter delivers just 500 watts.  Their listening area has been severely reduced.

The listener-supported station says their losses not covered by insurance total around $70,000. And they're urgently asking for donations.

Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., they'll have a special fundraiser they're calling "Power Up."

It'll be broadcast on KVNE 89.5 FM, sister station KGLY at 91.3 FM, and on their website at kvne.com.   Donors can also give securely on the website.
