High School Seniors Shadow Tyler Police Department

More than 200 high school seniors went guns blazing into the working world today. Some Chapel Hill seniors, interested in law enforcement, shadowed members of the Tyler Police Department. While they were there, they got the chance to use a shooting simulation machine. The screen displays different situations police are faced with, and the students talk to the people on the screen as if they are real.

"It made you feel like you were actually in the position to where you were holding the person," said Dekarlton Mills, Chapel Hill senior. "I find it interesting to see how law enforcement is really ran to see what actually goes on behind the scenes." The Tyler Police Department is just one of 62 local businesses that participated in the job shadowing program.
