Longview Restaurants With Some Problems

      Five Longview area restaurants were given the most serious violations in the latest inspection by the health department, including the Waffle Shoppe at 707 west Marshall avenue. 10 violations were found in a January 18th inspection. Hot and cold foods were at unsafe temperatures, work spaces were unsanitary, and the ice machine had slime in it. They scored a C.

    Eight violations were found in a January 12th inspection of Churches Fried Chicken at 2000 Toler road. Stored foods were improperly protected, foods were not held at safe temperatures and there was evidence of roach infestation. They scored a C.

    Grandy's at 3305 south Eastman road had seven violations in a January 11th inspection. Food prep areas were unsanitary, cold foods were at unsafe temperatures and utensils were not sanitized. They scored a C.

    7 violations were found at El Sombrero at 1442 Mccann road. In a January 6th inspection, food was found unprotected and unstored, cold foods were at unsafe temperatures and hygienic violations were found. They scored a B.

     And Shoguns at 1313 west Loop 281 had 7 violations in a January 10th inspection. Foods were unsafely thawed, there were unsanitary food contact surfaces and improper cooling of prepared foods. They scored a B.
