After two extremely successful seasons at Longview High School, head coach John King appears headed to Henderson to fill their head coach and athletic director opening. Henderson ISD Superintendent Tommy Alexander confirmed to KLTV 7 tonight, the two met at Alexander's home last night for five hours. King and Alexander met in Longview this morning for another five hours. He said King will spend the day Friday in Henderson, touring the facilities and meeting with board members. A confident Alexander said a special school board meeting will be held Monday at Noon.
"There will be a recommendation on Monday," Alexander said.
If King is indeed the man, then Alexander would have most certainly made good on his pledge to make the Lions program one of the elite in the state. King led the Lobos to a 22-2 record, and two district titles in his two seasons as head coach in Longview. It was his first head coaching position.
