Closing Arguments Set In Capital Murder Trial

Witness testimony in the Susanna Arroyo capital murder trial wrapped up today. This morning, jurors in the trial heard from Arroyo's cousin, Crystal Garcia, who's already in prison for her part in the crime.

Arroyo, 23, is the last of six people tried in connection with the murder of 18-year-old Adam Carrier. Carrier was found beaten and stabbed to death on Skidmore Lane in Tyler in 1999.

In her testimony this morning, Garcia broke down when she told jurors Arroyo beat carrier. Prosecutors say Arroyo was part of the North Side Crips gang. District Attorney Matt Bingham says Arroyo and five friends planned to rob Carrier when he tried to buy marijuana from them. Closing arguments are expected tomorrow.
