Couple Found Shot To Death In Tyler Home

A common-law husband and wife are found shot to death inside their Tyler home, apparently, in a murder-suicide. Tyler Police made the discovery last night at 1807 North Church St. Officers found the bodies of Lorna Joann Roberts, 61, and Horace Wooten, 79, in a back room of the home. Investigators believe Roberts shot her husband with a 38 special, then turned the gun on herself.

Neighbors say the couple seemed very loving towards each other. "They were always together. He would grab the door for her and she would get in and out and he would help her to get out and I never saw them fight," said Viviana Almasan. "The last day I saw them was Monday at around two in the afternoon. They were in the car together and then after that I didn't see them again."

Authorities say the couple had been together for at least two years.
