Two Escapees Still On The Loose

The search is on in Alabama and Georgia for two murder suspects who escaped over the weekend from an overcrowded jail.

Authorities say the escapees overpowered guards in an Alabama jail, near the Georgia boarder, and wounded one of them with a makeshift knife.

One of the men, Johnny Earl Jones, is 17. He's charged with killing a child he was baby-sitting for.

The other man, 18-year-old Lamar Benton, is charged in the rape and slaying of a 39-year-old woman.

A third murder suspect also escaped, but was quickly recaptured by officers using tracking dogs and helicopters.

The Russell County Jail is designed to hold about 220 inmates. It held about 300 when the escape happened.
