CASA Holds Press Conference

CASA is a non-profit organization that represented abused and neglected children in court.  Some are worried that the kids are getting shuffled.  Since November, CASA has not been working in Judge Carole Clarks' Smith County courtroom.

Friday, new board chairman, Tracey Crawford held a press conference. Crawford says he hopes to soon reach an agreement with Judge Clark.   "We are very eager to talk with Judge Clark and resolve any issues that might have and we believe we can do that. We feel like the best place to be is back in her court," says Crawford.

He says CASA wants to get back to serving the kids.  Crawford also said the two supervisors that were laid off because CASA is not handling cases in Judge Clarks' courtroom.

We spoke with Judge Clark on the phone on Friday, and she says she wants this issue resolved.
