CASA Names New Board Chairman

CASA has a new board chairman, and he says the kids need to come first. Yesterday, Tracey Crawford was named the new board chairman of CASA, which helps abused and neglected children.

Crawford is an attorney who served on the board for more than 5 years. CASA has been in turmoil since November. That's when its director was fired, and District Judge Carole Clark declared she wouldn't allow CASA to represent children in her courtroom. She did offer up 12 recommendations, that, if fulfilled, would allow CASA back.

However, Crawford says the board has questions regarding the Judge's requests.  "I hope in the very near future we are able to meet with Judge Clark and resolve whatever issues she believes exists between the board of CASA and Judge Clark," says Crawford.

Crawford says he believe they can meet all of the Judge's requests...however he says some of them need explanations.
