PATH Kicks Off Mentoring Program

A mentoring program for children kicked off Monday in Tyler. Kid Reach, formerly known as Big Brothers and Big Sisters is the newest program for PATH.

Major Joey Seeber presented a proclamation naming January "Kid Reach Mentoring Month." The program serves children ages five to fourteen. Christina Fulson, Executive Director of PATH says, "Our mentoring program entails taking a child that comes from a disadvantage circumstance, who would be at risk, and matching them with an adult. Someone that is going to care about them. Matching the children with an adults who serves as a role model and as a listener. Someone that is going to guide them in a different path then the one that we are today."

Currently, PATH has 100 mentors and children. However, they still have 30 children on the mentoring waiting list.
