Families Gather To Pray, Wait For Trapped Miners

It's been an agonizing wait for relatives of 13 miners trapped in a West Virginia coal mine.

About 200 co-workers and relatives of the trapped miners gathered at the Sago Baptist Church, across the road from the mine, in Tallmansville.

Anna McCoy says her husband Randall was "looking to get out." She says he has worked for the mine for three years but considered it "too dangerous."

Samantha Lewis, whose husband David is among those trapped, says he worked the mines so that he could care for their children at night while she works on a master's degree.

And Daniel Meredith says his father-in-law, Jim Bennett, planned to retire this year. Meredith says Bennett would come home every night and pray for the miners reporting to work. Meredith says he believes Bennett is probably "witnessing" to and "praying" for other trapped workers.
