First East Texas Baby Born In Longview

A very happy phone call to one East Texas Marine stationed in California, and his wife delivers the first baby born in Longview. A warm family gathering at Longview Regional Hospital Today. The first baby born in East Texas, and possibly the state, arrived to the loving arms of new mother "Brandie Clark". Brandie went into labor at 3 in the morning, and at 7:47 today, 5 pound 14 once "Kindall Kay Clark" came into the world.

Brandies' husband, PFC Michael Clark, got emergency leave from the Marines in San Diego to fly home to be with his family.

"I talked to him when my water broke and then he called twice when I was in labor and delivery, and then he got on a plane" said Brandie.

Kindalls arrival had many family members so happy , they were at a loss as to what to say.

"Its my grandson, my great grandson my granddaughter, boy it's 2006" said Michaels grandfather Tom Brash.

Amazingly, Michael had just been home on leave for thanksgiving and Christmas, but said he would not miss this day. Its a day that will always have new meaning, for Brandie's family.

"Its gonna be her birthday and we'll never forget this day" said Brandies' mother.

Brandie will stay overnight at regional with Kindall.
