Bullard Community Says Goodbye To Star Athlete

The Bullard community said goodbye to one of their star athletes this afternoon.  Larry Prentice, 16, died Tuesday while playing basketball. Larry's family told us, he had a history of heart problems, and the school says they believe Larry died of cardiac arrest.

The Southern Baptist Church parking lot in Bullard was full today for Larry's funeral. Those that never knew Larry came to show their support for the family. Residents say Bullard is a very faith-based community.  "Everybody's been coming together," said Bullard Resident Matt Harris. "Like Wednesday night when everybody came up to the church and kind of had a memorial for Larry and set up a memorial fund for him as soon as it happened. I everyone just moved real quick and came together with it."

The school set up the memorial fund at Austin Bank in Bullard.
