Transit Strike Enters Day 3

The pressure is on New York City's transit union today, the third straight day of the strike. A judge has ordered union leaders to court today and says they could be put in jail for contempt. The judge has already fined the union one million dollars per-day.

But a union lawyer is warning that jailing leaders will halt the talks, and could make a settlement more difficult. The state's attorney general has also asked that the officials be fined. Leaders have signaled that the union would be willing to go back to work if the transit agency takes its current pension proposal off the table.

More than 30,000 New York City transit workers went on strike early Tuesday, shutting down the nation's largest public transportation system and creating nightmares for commuters.
