Paul Pewitt Fans In Frenzy

The east Texas towns of "Omaha" and "Naples" are in a frenzy right now over a high school football team, which kids from both towns attend, on a state title run. Theres unrestrained excitement in the towns as Paul Pewitt high school is on the verge of capturing a state 2-a title Saturday.

"Kind of put us on the map i guess and finally give us the respect we deserve because year in year out we have one of the best football teams in northeast Texas" said Naples resident Mike Vissering.

The signs of support are everywhere, every business, every building even local police are getting in the spirit.

"Everybodys got it on their cars its on all the buildings its awesome everybodys into it" said Brahmas defensive tackle Tyler Holman.

There are only 24-hundred people combined in both cities, and they clearly show big league support for the Brahma's. They captured a i-a title in 1998, and even the players are a little overwhelmed, and say the support is a real team effort.

"Everybody the school the community , familys everybody and i think it should be credited to everybody" said Paul Pewitt offensive guard Chance Rosewell.

Its like Mayberry winning it all, and for many its as good as small town life gets. Bob Hallmark reporting.
