Brandon Martin was not home when the fire happened at his house in Hawkins on Highway 80. All that remains now is a charred skeleton of the home. Martin lost everything, including clothes, furniture and other belongings. The Jarvis Christian College basketball player says support he's received so far from people on campus is getting him through. "I know a lot of people did a lot of things to get me this house and I was hoping it wasn't anything I did to cause the fire. It turns out it wasn't so I was pretty relieved, but at the same time I lost everything," says Brandon.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. If you'd like to help Brandon get back on his feet donations are being accepted care of the Jarvis Men's Basketball program, P.O. Box 1470, Hawkins, TX 75765. Or call (903) 769-5761.
